Dr. Peter M. Davis (Dr. Pete) received his B.A. degree from Maryville College in Maryville, TN. He received his B.S. degree and O.D. degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN in 1987. In 1988, Dr. Pete completed his residency in Pediatric Optometry from Southern College of Optometry. He is a certified Pediatric Optometrist. He started his post-residency career as a clinical instructor in Pediatric and Primary Eye Care Optometry at Southern College of Optometry. After one year there, he started conversation with his brother on opening up a practice together. They settled on Mt. Juliet and never looked back. Dr. Pete has invested a lot of time over his career into Mt. Juliet and is still an active participant in community activities. He has been an active member of the Mt. Juliet Chamber of Commerce, serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of the Chamber’s Business Exposition.
You may see Dr. Pete as he volunteers his time each year to go to each Elementary School in the Mt. Juliet School System to perform follow-up vision screenings without promoting his business or soliciting for patients to come to come to his practice. He truly loves and enjoys helping children.
Dr. Pete performs Comprehensive Eye Examinations with an emphasis on Pediatric Eye and Vision Care. Helping children see and perform their best is his passion. He has expertise in the areas developmental and learning related vision issues, perceptual visual issues, and vision therapy (also known as vision training or orthoptics).
Dr. Pete lives in Mt. Juliet and is blessed with a wonderful wife. They also have a new member of their family, Samson, a beautiful Maine Coon cat who has taken over ownership of their home. Every summer, you can find Dr. Pete vacationing on the southern coast of Maine basking in the cooler northeastern summer air.
